Formula 1 Preview 2019

-

The new Formula 1 season will get underway on 25th March at the Australian Grand Prix at Melbourne. Already, the top bookmakers have released their odds for the new season and, unsurprisingly, Lewis Hamilton leads the way at 5/4. The four-time Drivers’ Championship winner is not likely to have it all his own way though, with Sebastian Vettel, Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo all expected to run him close.

For more particulars around the 2019 Drivers’ Championship, take a good look at the table below. The info provided shows the most popular favourites that come with the best odds, which combined with the bonuses listen in Efirbet can turn every prediction into a potentially winning betslip:

Bottas Could Show his Worth in Second Formula 1 Season

Clearly the bookmakers fancy Hamilton, but not so much as to price Vettel and Verstappen at big odds. Some value could be found in backing Hamilton’s team-mate, ValtteriBottas, at 14/1. He showed an incredible level of consistency in his debut season when retiring just once and never otherwise finishing outside of the top 6 places in a Grand Prix.

Although it may be too soon for him to challenge Hamilton, an each-way bet (three places at 1/5 of the odds) could be something of a banker for the 2018 season.

Red Bull Need to Fix Engine Issues to Challenge

What sort of case can be made for Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo? The Red Bull drivers did okay when finishing races, but car troubles let them down time and time again. In fact, they retired in a combined 13 races last season – not good enough when challenging for a Championship. However, Red Bull boss, Christian Horner, has stated that he thinks they will be more consistent this season and they may have put engine problems behind them. The odds are not generous enough to consider either to take down Hamilton, but they may be worth considering in the Constructors’ Championship.

Mercedes Priced at Short-Odds to Win Again in 2018

Mercedes, of course, have won the last four Constructors’ Championships in Formula 1, whereas Ferrari have not won since way back in 2008. But, it is Red Bull that should offer the most interest to anyone betting on Formula 1. If they have sorted out those issues with the engine, the car and drivers are good enough to be in the running for the Constructors’ title at the end of the season. That’s a big ‘if’ though, but the odds are generous enough to warrant a flutter.

It’s a long season in Formula 1, so the odds will undoubtedly fluctuate between now and the final Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi on November 25th. However, some of the odds for drivers and teams mentioned above could look very generous in ten months’ time.
