How to Make Any Ordinary Street Car Look Like a Sports Car

Car enthusiasts make a lot of modifications to make their ordinary cars look sporty. However, you cannot make a car look sporty just by adding more bits and pieces to it. You need to take a proper modification approach to do so. And unless you stick to that approach, you will end up overdoing things. That will make the car more horrendous than sporty.

So to give you some idea regarding it, here is how you can make any ordinary street car look sporty.

It Needs a Fresh Paint Job

For the paint job, you need to ensure a few things.

Start by getting rid of any rust on the body. You can do so in a wide range of ways. We will not go into the details of that in this article. However, you can find plenty of auto rust removal tips online if you search for them.

Next, you go for the paint job. You can either give it a glossy or metallic finish or keep things plain and simple. The black color is very common in sports cars. You could also go for colors like red and blue. For a chrome finish, however, black will be the best choice, followed by red.

You can also opt for car wraps, although they are not sporty looking in any way. If anything, the wraps will just give the car a cool look. For a more realistic sporting appeal, just the paint job will do. Do not forget to give it a wax finish after the paint job. That will help protect the paint and make it last longer.

The Rear Spoiler is a Must

You cannot make a car look sporty without a spoiler. It is like the icing on the cake.

Race cars have spoilers for better aerodynamics. They help reshape the flow of air around the vehicle. As a result, cars can move a lot better at high speeds. For you, however, the rear spoiler is mostly for show, unless you plan on going racing with your vehicle.

Avoid getting spoilers that are too big or heavy. These will ruin the handling and increase the amount of drag. Before buying, make sure you know the differences between wings and spoilers.

Tint the Windows

The first thing you should know about tinting is that you are never allowed to tint the windscreen and the front two passenger windows for safety reasons. That is illegal and can get you in a lot of trouble. You can, however, tint the rear passenger windows. You can also tint the back window if you have a rearview camera for reversing.

Tinted windows look great. They give the car a sleek and sporty look. They also help keep the car cool during the summer.

Getting a New Set of Wheels

One way to make a car look as well as feel sporty is by giving it a new set of wheels. Do not just change the tires. You also need to get some new rims.

The wheels demand a lot of attention in a sports car. Once you have made the first impression on others with your bodywork, they will immediately set their eyes on your wheels. And they will have a good laugh if your wheels do not match the look on the rest of your car.

Thus, it is always a good idea to invest in a proper set of racing wheels and rims. You do not have to go racing with them. Just have them on for the looks.

Do Not Forget the Interior

Your car’s interior is just as important as its exterior. Since you are going for a sporty look, you might as well do so for the entire car and not just the exterior.

For a sporty interior, you can go for bucket seating in the front. Next, make some changes to the dashboard. Add some chrome trimmings. You can go for a wide range of color options here. The red and black combo looks cool in race cars. So you could go for that look. You can even opt for colors like blue, violet, or even silver.

While redecorating your interior, make sure not to fiddle with any of the safety mechanisms of your car. The seat belt mounting positions, for instance, should not be altered in any way.

And that is all you need to know about how to give a normal street car a sporty look. Try not to overdo things. You can keep things simple and still achieve a fresh and sporty look for your car.
