In this second week of March, I went to the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit, to meet the competitors of the International GT Open and the GT Cup Europe for the two days of winter tests organized by GT Sport.
Monday and Tuesday for the GT Cup Europe, Tuesday and Wednesday for the International GT Open with the Tuesday morning session common to both.
Around twenty GT3s from the International GT Open and around ten representatives from the GT Cup Open set tyres on the asphalt of the Catalan circuit.
Day 1 - Tuesday
Tuesday took place in excellent weather and track conditions.








The best lap time of the day (1.39.819) was achieved by the #9 GetSpeed Mercedes AMG GT3 EVO of Anthony Bartone-Fabian Schiller ahead of the two Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) Car Collection Motorsport of Bergström/Menzel on #15 and HASH/Fontana on #12 respectively +0.535 and +0.889.
The top 5 being completed by two Mercedes AMG GT3 EVOs, #6 from GetSpeed and #96 from Motopark 96.
















In the "small" class Ludwig/Velasco in the #80 Mertel Motorsport Ferrari 488 Challenge Evo finished the session at the top of the timesheet, ahead of Martins/Svepes in the #911 RACAR Motorsport Porsche 992 GT3 Cup at +0.163.




















The afternoon session saw the #96 Motopark Mercedes set the best time of the session in 1.40.213, with different drivers alternating at the wheel, as in session 1, ahead of the Bergström/Menzel pair on #15.
In total for the two sessions this Tuesday the quintet is Bartone/Schiller Mercedes AMG GT3 EVO #9 GetSpeed, Mercedes AMG GT3 EVO #96 from Motopark, Bergström/Menzel Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) #15 Car Collection Motorsport, HASH/Fontana Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) #12 Car Collection Motorsport and Mercedes AMG GT3 EVO #65 from Motopark.
The only incident to report was the #777 Olimp Racing Audi leaving the track, which hit the tire guards at turn 12.
Day 2 - Wednesday
The final session took place on Wednesday morning, still sunny for 4 hours, saw four Mercedes AMG GT3 EVOs in the first four places on the timesheet, with GetSpeed taking first #6, second #108 and fourth # 9 positions, Team Motopark placing its #65 in third place.
The top five being completed by Car Collection Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) #15.
















This ranking is identical at the end of the entire Winter Test, ahead of the two other Motopark cars, the #96 and the #17, while the #777 Olimp Racing Audi of Marcin Jedlinski-Karol Basz finished eighth.








My next meeting with the International GT Open will be on the Paul Ricard circuit for the French round on July 19 - 20 - 21
