Race notes:
The 500 km of Interlagos was held on the weekend of August 7/8, under the same regulations as the 1000 Miles. The winner was a Aldee prototype driven by Ney Fonseca and Antonio Chambel. An accident destroyed the Stuttgart Porsche 911 GT2 and the 1000 Miles winner (AS Vectra). No one was injured, but the Porsche entangled with the AS in the grandstands straight, spun and hit the wall at both sides. Andre Lara Resende was at the wheel.
